In the spring of 2026, we saw United Airlines start to take delivery of its latest batch of Boeing 787-9s, featuring an all-new onboard experience. These planes are in an ultra-premium configuration, with just 222 seats, including a staggering 64 business class seats, with new products across cabins.

United's new premium-heavy layout on its Boeing 787-9 fleet is designed to compete with the world's best airlines.

All of them are domestic.

We recently saw United Airlines introduce its long awaited new Boeing 787-9s, featuring all-new cabins, which are being branded as United Elevate. This represents the evolution of the carrier’s long haul experience, including all-new Polaris business class seats.

While United has ruled out taking possession of up to 20 of these aircraft, it has left room for other airlines to step in.
